Did you know St. Patrick was Italian?

Americans created so many traditions around St. Patty’s day – Everything from parades, to kegs & eggs, to wearing green, and celebrating like the Irish! But did you know St. Patrick was Italian? While St. Patrick was born in the British Isles, it is believed that his parents were of Roman ancestry. He was kidnapped as a child and brought to Ireland. After escaping and returning to his family, he felt a calling to return to Ireland. St. Patrick is known as the patron saint of Ireland because of his missionary work there, and many believe he introduced Christianity to the area. It is believed that St. Patrick passed on March 17, the day we celebrate his great legacy!
